The Eight Islands White Caribbean Rum is a blend of rums from eight different Caribbean islands.It is matured in Irish whiskey casks, in Cork, Ireland.

This rum is produced by West Cork Distillers.

Captain Morgan Dark rum is a blend of five different rums from Jamaica, Guyana and Barbados. The blended rum mixture is distilled in a two part process using both pot stills and continuous stills and then aged for 2 to 7 years in charred oak barrels.

Crafted with expertise in Trinidad and Tobago, Angostura 7 Year Old Rum is a premium dark rum that epitomizes elegance and richness. Aged for a minimum of 7 years in American oak barrels that previously held bourbon, this rum delivers an unforgettable depth of flavor.

  • Appearance: A deep amber hue with golden highlights.
  • Nose: Aromatic notes of rich toffee, warm vanilla, and subtle spices, complemented by hints of dried fruit and oak.
  • Palate: Smooth and well-rounded with flavors of caramel, molasses, cocoa, and a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg, balanced by a gentle smokiness.
  • Finish: Long, warming, and slightly sweet with lingering hints of spice and oak.

Describing itself as 'the rum for bourbon drinkers. Bayou Select is copper pot distilled from Louisiana sugarcane and then aged in the Solera method for up to three years. The result is a creamy rum with a bourbon-esque character, accompanied by notes of cinnamon and maple. The Solera method involves a pyramid of stacked barrels. The oldest liquid is in the bottom layer of barrels, the youngest in the top. When a batch is harvested it is filled solely from some of the bottom layer, and those barrels are then topped up with rum from the layer resting on top of them. This second layer is, in turn, topped up with the contents of the third layer, and so on. This process is a way of naturally blending spirits for consistent taste and quality.

This is a dark rum (and a fairly dusky one at that. Aged up to eight years, it’s got some coffee, cinnamon, and cloves on the nose — along with some raisin notes. Quite savory on the tongue — those bitching about Exclusiva being too sweet can check this out — the coffee notes filter down to dusky charcoal, barrel char, some raisin, and a bit of dark chocolate. Sugar is almost an afterthought here. If you like your rum chewy and filtered through the dank haze of wood, this is your jam. For me though, it’s a bit one-note. 80 proof
