Glencadam Reserva Andalucia Single Malt – 70 cl

Our multi-award winning, Glencadam Reserva Andalucía pays homage to the relationship between Glencadam Distillery and the famous sherry region of Andalucía, Spain. 

Handcrafted using carefully selected sherry butts from Glencadam Distillery’s dunnage warehouses and marrying together with bourbon casks, this fine single malt is then finished in Oloroso Sherry butts from Andalucía.

The result is a rich and sherry-forward expression, where the famous fruitiness of the Glencadam spirit is balanced with sultana and sweet-spice notes, that come from the Oloroso Sherry cask maturation. 

TASTING NOTES

Nose:  Initial aromas of ripe soft fruits, soft nougat and oaky vanilla with a background of freshly made fudge.
Palate: Smooth and creamy with sultanas, orchard fruits and toffee apple sweetness.
Finish:  Long lasting and silky smooth with honey, muscovado sugar and green tea lingering on the tongue.

ABV: 46%

Swing features an elevated amount of Speyside malts, balanced by malts from the northern Highlands and Islay. On the tongue it starts off a bit sweet and then the spicy notes take affect mid-palate which exposes the smoke and peat. It has a smooth lingering smoke and spice finish. The Macallan treated this 18 Year Old to not just one, but two cask content-types for its maturation, released as part of the Double Cask series! Oloroso sherry was used to season a combination of both American and European oak casks, with the former imparting vanilla nuances while the latter brings that hallmark Macallan spice. Another fantastic sherried single malt from the Speyside distillery!

Tasting Notes

Nose: Dried fruit, ginger and toffee. Rich orange with hints of clove and nutmeg.

Palate: Rich raisin and sultana with notes of caramel, vanilla and ginger, balanced by wood spice and zesty citrus.

Finish: Warm oak spice with ginger, turning to sweet orange.
