DA well-balanced entry in the Jura range, made up of both smoky and unpeated whisky matured in bourbon casks and finished in sherry, adding darker notes to the soft smoke and fresh fruit of the distillery’s whisky.

NOSE: Proper Scottish porridge – a pinch of salt and rich oats – stirred through with a spoon of decadently sweet Strawberry jam and sprinkled with raisins.

PALATE: Creamy and chocolatey, with the porridge of the nose dusted with cocoa. Soft spice builds – cardamom and cinnamon – with rich hot chocolate and squashed raisins following.

FINISH: Fruity dark chocolate fades to reveal apple and a touch of liquorice.

Sir Edwards is distilled and then matured in oak barrels. Refined, aromatic and woody, long on the palate with a clean, round flavor, it reveals all the finesse of an outstanding Scotch blend.

Produced with a careful selection of the best Scottish malt and grain whiskies, mainly from the region of Speyside. The only one in its category with an aging of at least 15 years in oak barrels. A pale coloured blend with a fresh and soft taste which is characterized by the maturity and softness provided by its long aging period.

The Macallan treated this 18 Year Old to not just one, but two cask content-types for its maturation, released as part of the Double Cask series! Oloroso sherry was used to season a combination of both American and European oak casks, with the former imparting vanilla nuances while the latter brings that hallmark Macallan spice. Another fantastic sherried single malt from the Speyside distillery!

Tasting Notes

Nose: Dried fruit, ginger and toffee. Rich orange with hints of clove and nutmeg.

Palate: Rich raisin and sultana with notes of caramel, vanilla and ginger, balanced by wood spice and zesty citrus.

Finish: Warm oak spice with ginger, turning to sweet orange.

Country: Highland, Scotland ABV: 43%

One of the world's most popular blends, and the best-selling Scotch whisky in Scotland. Famous Grouse is a very nicely balanced, malty blend which was first made in 1896, and would go on to be known as The Famous Grouse, with the name registered in 1905. Around eighty years later, the company was awarded a Royal Warrant. The blend represents great value for money, and it also works beautiful in whisky-based cocktails. Delicious.
