DESCRIPTIONO: Little Bay is married in the smallest casks available at the distillery, 200-litre ex-bourbon barrels. This has resulted in a rich whisky with notes of stone fruit, spice and honey.
The Little Bay Whiskey Single Malt from Oban represents the most complex version of the 14 Year Old Oban, made by aging in American oak barrels that previously contained bourbon or sherry. It is characterized by an intense and deep amber color.
The nose expresses fruity aromas of apples and citrus fruits, later reached by aromas of caramel and honey.
On the palate it brings spicy notes of cinnamon and chocolate, well balanced with exquisitely fruity hints that accompany towards a finish of medium persistence. This Scotch single malt whiskey is excelled alone or as a base for refined cocktails.
TASTING NOTES
Nose : oily, waxy and nutty, balanced by ripe orchard fruits. Notes of almond fruit cake, with cereal and orange behind.
Palate : the comforting chewiness of rich fruit-bread, hints of orange zest and clove, growing drier, still minty, with crisp green apple
Overall : quite syrupy at first, then drying, with elegant coating tannins. Rich in dark chocolate character.
