Displaying an especially attractive combination of vigour and complexity, the blend consists of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Fins Bois. Lot n°90’s unique character comes from long ageing in oak barrels, which adds richness and complexity. Since its founding in 1765, Hennessy has been guided by a passion to craft the world’s finest Cognacs - our drive to Never Stop. Never Settle. Hennessy Cognac is crafted with a strict set of standards defined by the Master Blender Renaud Fillioux de Gironde and handed down from generation to generation.

However, when it comes to enjoying Cognac, we haven’t followed any rules since 1765. In perpetuating the legacy of the original V.S.O.P – specially conceived by Hennessy in 1817 for the English Prince Regent, who would become George IV – the objective of the Hennessy master blenders has always been to create a complete and harmonious blend: the definitive expression of a perfectly balanced cognac. The mellow texture of its oldest eaux-de-vie perfectly complements the vitality of the youngest, which makes it ideal for any occasion, whether enjoyed on the rocks, as a long drink or in a more creative mix.

A classic VSOP cognac, this is matured for between 8 and 12 years in a selection of Troncais and Limousin oak barrels.

Eye: The spirit is an amber colored liquid upon first glance, but once poured displays itself in more of a copper once out in the open. Tilt the glass a slow twirl and a few tilts to reveal medium-sized droplets.

Nose: When the cognac is distilled and aged, it begins to conjure the soft, luscious aroma of ripe peach. After several years in French fine-grained oak barrels, the spirit develops nutty notes and ages to produce a sweet, caramelized flavor of toasted almonds. The distillation on the lees is a complex process but it gives fruity and musky notes, with an aroma of jasmine.

Palate: The palate gives a lengthy finish.

The finish is toasted almonds, toffee, and stone fruits. A dry finish of baking spice.

Tasting's Notes: Golden amber with dark copper and mahogany highlights. Ground spice (black pepper, coriander) and red berries.

Rich fruit flavours: fig chutney and compote, almonds and walnuts.

This prestige cognac is rounded and fruity on the palate (notes of fig and walnut) followed by the characteristic power and finesse of eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne. A long and silken finish.
