Tasting Notes:
A bold and aromatic profile with notes of bonfire smoke, vanilla pods, and brandy butter on the nose. The palate is rich and oily, revealing creamy marshmallow, macadamia nuts, peppery spice, and floral heather smoke, balanced by subtle sweetness. The finish is long and warming, with vanilla sweetness and lingering perfumed smoke.

Food Pairing:
Pairs well with smoked meats, roasted nuts, or dark chocolate — enhancing its smoky, nutty, and sweet complexity.

This limited release marks the first in Highland Park’s refreshed Cask Strength series, designed to showcase the distillery’s signature heathered peat influence at its most intense. Matured in first-fill European and American sherry-seasoned oak casks with select refill casks, and bottled without chill filtration or added colour, it represents one of the purest expressions of Orkney whisky character.

The Macallan treated this 18 Year Old to not just one, but two cask content-types for its maturation, released as part of the Double Cask series! Oloroso sherry was used to season a combination of both American and European oak casks, with the former imparting vanilla nuances while the latter brings that hallmark Macallan spice. Another fantastic sherried single malt from the Speyside distillery!

Tasting Notes

Nose: Dried fruit, ginger and toffee. Rich orange with hints of clove and nutmeg.

Palate: Rich raisin and sultana with notes of caramel, vanilla and ginger, balanced by wood spice and zesty citrus.

Finish: Warm oak spice with ginger, turning to sweet orange.

Nose: Honey and heather with thick caramel notes and a subtle nutmeg spice. Dried meadow flowers and a hint of fresh banana.

Palate: Smooth and succulent with a honeyed sweetness that's typical of Johnnie Walker. There's more to this though, the floral elements are quite prominent and there's a spiced sweet vanilla note too.

Finish: Long, sweet and toffee-like.

Overall: A typically easy drinking blend from Johnnie Walker, this will not disappoint fans of the style.
