Suntory Hakushu Single Malt Japanese Whisky – 70 cl

• Composition: A masterfully orchestrated blend by the 4th Master Distiller, Shinji Fukuyo. It combines young, lightly peated malts aged in ex-bourbon barrels (giving freshness), a heavy-bodied malt aged for over 18 years in American white oak, and a heavily peated 12-year-old malt for back-end smoke.

• Nose: Cool and herbaceous aromatics featuring peppermint, melon, and cucumber.
• Palate: Bright and citrus-forward, balancing yuzu, grapefruit, and lemon thyme with a minty sweetness.
• Finish: Fresh and clean, yielding to a lingering, subtle thread of peat smoke.

One of the world's most popular blends, and the best-selling Scotch whisky in Scotland. Famous Grouse is a very nicely balanced, malty blend which was first made in 1896, and would go on to be known as The Famous Grouse, with the name registered in 1905. Around eighty years later, the company was awarded a Royal Warrant. The blend represents great value for money, and it also works beautiful in whisky-based cocktails. Delicious.

Nose: Candied fruits, buttery shortbread, citrus peel

Swing features an elevated amount of Speyside malts, balanced by malts from the northern Highlands and Islay. On the tongue it starts off a bit sweet and then the spicy notes take affect mid-palate which exposes the smoke and peat. It has a smooth lingering smoke and spice finish. The result is a luxurious flavor that's light in the foreground, with sweet mouth-watering depth developing on the palate.

A luxurious blend from the exclusive reserve of aged casks, including that of the now quiet distillery of Brora. Aged for an extended period of 21 years this exceptional legacy blend is both warm and spicy to the palate with layers of complexity to suit the discerning whisky drinker.

Nose: Spiced apple, smoky oak and a little toasted brioche.

Palate: Herbal as it opens. This gives way to orange and lemon peels by the bucket-load, followed by another kick of smoky malt.

Finish: Wafts of Sherry-soaked raisins last and last.

Nose: Honeyed cereals, Cadbury's Fruit and Nut, distant bonfire smoke, clementine and spring blossom.

Palate: Peanut brittle, candied peels, plump sultana, a whisper of floral malt gives it an aromatic mid-palate, before giving way to a whisper of dry, earthy smoke.

Finish: Another wave of honey, with a soft hint of cinnamon spiciness.
