Tasting Notes

• Nose: Opens with intense, classic peat smoke, sea spray, and brine. These traditional notes are layered with crisp citrus (grilled lemon, lime juice), dried herbs, charred bell pepper, and a subtle sweetness reminiscent of agave.
• Palate: Robust, peppery, and oily in texture. It delivers smoky malt balanced against stewed dark plums, bright herbs, salted popcorn, and hints of warming wood spice.
• Finish: Long, warming, and exceptionally dry. It leaves behind an aschiny, herbal smoke residue with a clean, salty pop.

The standard release of Highland Queen blended Scotch whisky, named after Mary Queen of Scots. Like much of the range, it offers very good value for money.

Nose: Some dark honey, caramel, allspice, cooked apples and pear drops.

Palate: Crisp apples now, nougat, more honey, subtle vanilla, perhaps even some tarragon.

Finish: Clean and quite short.

Nose: Dried fruit, ginger and toffee. Rich orange with hints of clove and nutmeg.

Palate: Rich raisin and sultana with notes of caramel, vanilla and ginger, balanced by wood spice and zesty citrus.

Finish: Warm oak spice with ginger, turning to sweet orange.
