2018 La Braccesca, Bramasole Cortona Syrah

Just a mile away from the city of Montepulciano, near the border between Tuscany and neighbouring Umbria, you will find La Braccesca, an Antinori property since 1990.Bramasole is 100% syrah, produced in the part of the vineyard that catches the most sun. A wine that will age gracefully over time, this is a beautiful wine to enjoy also in its youth, representing all the tradition and craftsmanship of the estate through an unconventional varietal. Bramasole’s first vintage was 2000.

Rich dark fruits, spiced cookie, smoky plums and black cherries define the 2018 Syrah Bramasole. This is cool-toned, pliant and pleasantly sweet, with a fresh display of inner violets, minerals and bright acids that keep the mouth watering. Nuanced tannins and sweet spice linger as this high-energy Cortona Syrah tapers off with blue and purple-toned florals. The 2018 Bramasole is stunning and so easy to like. 93pts Eric Guido, Vinous.

Bardolino Classico is a red wine produced from the traditional (Classico) vineyard area at the heart of the Bardolino DOC in Veneto, north-eastern Italy.

Both of these appellations are based on the red grape varieties also associated with Valpolicella: Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella.
