Angostura Bitter – 20 cl

A unique liqueur that has been appreciated by barmen for nearly two centuries as a cocktail ingredient. Angostura Aromatic Bitters is a secret mix of concentrated essences. Produced in Trinidad, the liqueur is obtained from spices, herbal extracts, natural herbs, orange peel, bitter and aromatic substances.

Angostura Aromatic Bitters History

It owes its invention to the MD, Johann Siegert, native of Germany, who left his homeland in 1820, attracted by the scent of adventure. He went to Venezuela to join the Simon Bolivar Liberation Army, the founder of the State of Bolivia, in its fight against the Spanish throne. Dr. Siegert was treating soldiers with fever and severe intestinal problems.

After four years of research and analysis on the virtues of tropical plants, in 1824 he developed his 'bitters' to stimulate appetite and digestion of the suffering soldiers. After the wars, Angostura bitters reputation spread to the United States and Britain due to the strong maritime activity in the Caribbean. Thus started the worldwide reputation of the product, now recognized as an essential ingredient in achieving many cocktails.

Bols Melon is a light emerald green liqueur based on the honeydew melon. Green melon liqueur became a popular cocktail ingredient in the height of the 70s disco boom in drinks such as the Sex on the Beach and June Bug.

Appearance: Clear, lurid bright green.

Aroma: Clean, freshly cut, fragrant, honeydew melon with slight boiled sweet note.

Taste: Slightly syrupy sweet, superbly clean, super ripe honeydew melon with faint banana, mint and peardrops.

Aftertaste: Long peardrop, melon and mint finish.

 MARTINI Fiero is made with a blend of white wines and botanicals including Spanish orange peel for a delicious and balanced bittersweet orange taste.

Storage: Once open, best kept refrigerated.

Preparation and Usage

Mix MARTINI Fiero 50/50 with sparkling tonic water and lots of ice for a thirst-quenching and refreshing drink for the modern aperitivo of today.    

It is an infusion of bittere herbs, aromatic plants and fruit in alcohol and water. The blend is a secret family recipe, originally created by Gaspare Campari in 1860 in Novara, Italy. It is versatile and fits in well with classic cocktails, without losing its strong and unique taste. It is perfect for the Negroni.
