Karam – Arc En Ciel Rose Wine

Why Arc-En-Ciel?

I distinctly recall making this wine for the first time. The weather that day was unsteady with heavy rain. I left the tasting room to stroll the grounds to plan my next course of action. As I took in the sea view from our winery, the sun emerged and a marvelous rainbow was in sight. It was then and there that I decided to name my rosé “Arc-En-Ciel”, French for rainbow. I saw it fitting as the rainbow’s hues of purple, red and pink suited the color of the wine. – Captain Habib Karam

Winemaking& Tasting Notes

This pale colored press rosé satisfies the palate with its red exotic aromas (strawberries,cranberries, raspberries and fresh prunes), body and rich taste with plenty of zest. Only noble varietals with low yield are embodied in this
wine; the Pinot Noir’s red fruit aromas coupled with the Syrah’s freshness and the smoothness of the Cabernet Sauvignon complete the experience.

Food Pairing: Pairs well with raw or cooked seafood, pasta, white meat and exotic salads.

Karam - Arc En Ciel Rose Wine

Why Arc-En-Ciel?

I distinctly recall making this wine for the first time. The weather that day was unsteady with heavy rain. I left the tasting room to stroll the grounds to plan my next course of action. As I took in the sea view from our winery, the sun emerged and a marvelous rainbow was in sight. It was then and there that I decided to name my rosé “Arc-En-Ciel”, French for rainbow. I saw it fitting as the rainbow’s hues of purple, red and pink suited the color of the wine. – Captain Habib Karam

Chateau Ksara Blanc De L'Observatoire is intensely aromatic on the nose, with soft rich fruit, a zesty palate and a long, very fresh finish. This wine seduces with its finesse, elegance and floral aroma.

Chateau Ksara Blanc De L'Observatoire is an interesting blend of aromatic white grapes: 45% Sauvignon Blanc, 35% Muscat and 20% Clairette. The Sauvignon Blanc gives this wine its finesse and elegance, the Muscat its subtle flowery aroma and the Clairette its fruitiness, roundness and rich taste. Each wine is matured separately for three months in French oak casks, before being blended and bottled.

Winemaking: The grapes are manually harvested, totally stemmed and transferred to tank in order to achieve the alcoholic fermentation. The Cinsault is shortly vatted to keep the freshness, the Syrah and Mourvedre are kept for a longer time to extract the aroma and spices, and the Cabernet-Sauvignon undergoes long skin contact to express length and elegance. The free flowing and press wine achieve the malolactic fermentation in different vats.

Maturing: The grape varietals are matured separately in vats for 14 to 18 months before being blended, fined and bottled. Taste: Its bright intense ruby red colour, with an exotic fruity aroma along with spicy and licorice notes make it a wine to remember. The mellow and supple tannins produce a persisting length on the Palate Ageing It can be drunk upon purchase or kept for 2 to 3 years in a good cellar.

Serving: Its easy flowing taste suits daily consumption and goes along very well with leg of lamb and stew

Its process goes through 4 distillations and is made by Chateau Kefraya.

Arak Massaya has a beguiling aniseed flavor and freshness that cleans the palate and aids digestion. It is often served as an aperitif and then as the perfect accompaniment to classic selections of mezze, the array of tasty dishes with contrasting flavours that is the starting point for many lunchtime or evening meals.

Arak works particularly well with the mezze melange that will include olives, spices, meat and cheese flavors that are sometimes harder to match with wine.

Named after François-Eugène Brun, Arak Brun might be the world’s most famous arak! Its production has been uninterrupted since the inception of the winery in 1868. It is made from the alcohol of estate grown Obeidi and Cinsault grapes, harvested at optimum ripeness, and blended with fresh anise. Since 2015, Domaine des Tourelles grows its own anise in Deir el Ahmar, a village in the district of Baalbek. Their arak is produced inside a hundred-year-old cellar, processed traditionally using a three-stage distillation in traditional alembics, and aged in clay jars.

Arak is not sweetened.

Serve with water – ice can be added.
