The main difference is that it enjoys a ‘double mellowing’ as it’s filtered through charcoal both before being filled into the barrel (the Lincoln County Process) and before it’s bottled. Jameson Irish Whiskey boasts a perfectly balanced flavor profile with spicy, nutty and sweet notes.

A Grain-Focused Malt Whiskey Unlike a typical 100% malt whiskey, is a Kentucky Straight Malt Whiskey crafted from 51% malt and aged in new charred oak barrels, making it the malt whiskey for bourbon drinkers.

Color: Dark copper

Nose: Vanilla and caramel up front with a definite undertone of aged oak. The aroma hints at the promise of some orange zest and citrus on the back end, though they don’t fully materialize.

Taste: This bourbon jumps right out of the gate on the tip of the tongue with maple and caramel flavors giving way to rye and spiciness on the middle of the tongue.

Finish: medium-length with sweet bourbon vanilla notes and hints of rye and char coming through a bit.
