The 2024 version of this limited-edition release by this iconic distillery focuses on sherry-cask maturation, inspired by the home of the Spanish fortified wine in Jerez. The Macallan A Night On Earth - Jerez is another impressive limited edition bottling from the 'A Night On Earth' series which this time brings us to the homeland of sherry itself: Jerez de la Frontera. The Macallan has a long tradition of creating sherry cask-aged whisky so it was really only a matter of time before it released a single malt Scotch whisky that championed this vital connection. The Macallan A Night on Earth Jerez was aged in sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks and celebrates New Year's Eve in Jerez, or Nocheviejo, a night full of meaning and tradition. It was bottled with natural colour at 43% ABV. Tasting Notes With a deep amber colour and an aroma reminiscent of dried fruit, dark chocolate and spices, this whiskey is a true sensory experience. The palate is complex and full-bodied with notes of sherry, raisins and caramel, balanced with spices and oak, giving a long and satisfying finish. Country: Highland - Scotland 43% ABV.

The initial aroma is strong with citrus and a hint of whiskey. The palate again reveals lots of orange character, and a moderate amount of honey. Has a rich, bourbon finish that plays on the tongue and ends with a final touch of honey.

Nose: Honey and heather with thick caramel notes and a subtle nutmeg spice. Dried meadow flowers and a hint of fresh banana.

Palate: Smooth and succulent with a honeyed sweetness that's typical of Johnnie Walker. There's more to this though, the floral elements are quite prominent and there's a spiced sweet vanilla note too.

Finish: Long, sweet and toffee-like.

Overall: A typically easy drinking blend from Johnnie Walker, this will not disappoint fans of the style.
