This grape-based Eau de Vie is named after the Jezzignac area which is situated at mountain tops on the east ridge of the town of Jezzine. Distilling & Tasting Notes The indigenous grape varieties of Meksassi, Hifawi and Vaitamouni are the essence of this grape-based Eau de Vie. Fulfilling the 3,000-year-old tradition of distilling, this refined drink reflects the aromas and flavors of the impressive Jezzignac terroir. Triple-distillation using fresh Jezzine Spring Water coupled with ageing in oak barrels gives this drink its purity, aromas and diverse tastes. The maturity process does not stop in oak barrels but continues into glass jars for the required period mentioned on the bottle. On the nose, it displays the aromas of smoked wood, dried almonds and walnuts with a hint of marmalade and vanilla. The silky sensation upon tasting is derived from the long ageing process. A classic VSOP cognac, this is matured for between 8 and 12 years in a selection of Troncais and Limousin oak barrels.

Eye: The spirit is an amber colored liquid upon first glance, but once poured displays itself in more of a copper once out in the open. Tilt the glass a slow twirl and a few tilts to reveal medium-sized droplets.

Nose: When the cognac is distilled and aged, it begins to conjure the soft, luscious aroma of ripe peach. After several years in French fine-grained oak barrels, the spirit develops nutty notes and ages to produce a sweet, caramelized flavor of toasted almonds. The distillation on the lees is a complex process but it gives fruity and musky notes, with an aroma of jasmine.

Palate: The palate gives a lengthy finish.

The finish is toasted almonds, toffee, and stone fruits. A dry finish of baking spice.

Courvoisier VS cognac is a blend of several crus aged between three and seven years, composed principally of Fins Bois with a balancing hand of Petite Champagne.

The fusion of younger and older cognacs gives Courvoisier VS a fruity, delicate taste and a bouquet filled with ripe fruit and spring flowers.

Rémy Martin XO is the signature of our Cellar Master who with his expertise blends hundreds of eaux-de-vie. His art of blending allows us to express the full aromatic complexity of this XO Cognac Fine Champagne.

Eye: Dark amber.

Nose: A rather smooth XO, some rich aromas of jasmine, a velvet structure, fruity candy notes.

Palate: The heart is dominated by fig, and full prune, on the palate cinnamon and brioche. The finish lasts for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Metaxa 12 Stars is a blend of eau-de-vie aged for at least 12 years in oak barrels, muscat from the vineyards of Samos and various plants whose recipe is secretly kept.

Metaxa 12 Stars is made with the wine distillates in both medium and heavily toasted oak casks. The time spent in the heavily toasted casks brings out more pronounced oaky and smoky notes to the distillates and, ultimately, to the spirit.
