The Marnier-Lapostolles hold a special place in Chile’s winemaking history: they were the first producers to earn a perfect 100 Point score, for the 2014 Clos Apalta.

The famed French grape-growing family first came to Chile in 1994, recognizing the country’s incredible potential to produce structured, elegant Bordeaux-styled wines. They set up shop in the revered Apalta region, where ungrafted old vines date back to 1920 and nutrient-poor soils create wines of rich character and complexity. In just two decades, and with the help of celebrated vintner Michel Rolland, they have completely changed the world’s perception of just how good Chilean wine can be.

Composed predominantly of Carménère with touches of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 99 Point 2016 Clos Apalta opens with dense aromas of black berries, dark cherry, cracked peppercorns, and dusty earth. 

The palate brings opulent flavors of blueberry, smoke, and cocoa, which are layered with hints of tobacco and leather that unwind beautifully as the bottle opens up. Aging in new French barriques for 26 months smooths out the tannins and adds an other-worldly silkiness to the wine, which finishes with both power and grace.

BLEND: 64% Carmenère, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Merlot.

Deep garnet colour, almost pitch black, with ruby hues. Round, powerful with well-balanced tannins, this full body wine displays notes of dark fruits (plum, cherry, blackcurrant) combined with a savoury panel of soft spices such as liquorice, clove, black pepper and nutmeg. The final if long, dry and so powerful.

Light bodied wine with a shiny golden color. Refreshing, crispy and highlighted by citrus aroma with hints of orange and a fresh flowery bouquet, smooth, persistent on the palate with an almond twist to the finish.

Medium to light bodied wine with a brilliant red color. On the nose lovely cherries and berries aroma. Balanced flood of red fruit that opens the taste buds with soft sweet notes. When chilled, makes a great summer red.

This selection of premium wine has been matured in French Barrique to enhance the natural aromas and characteristics of each single variety.

The finish: is medium to deep with suppleness on the palate.

A complex wine from the most Nobel red grapes, deep ruby in color characterized by rich floral aromas, ripe plum and cherry.

On the palate it shows mouth filling fruitiness and a long smooth finish. Matured for twelve months in French barrique and refined in our cellars for at least one year.
