The Saint George Cabernet Sauvignon - Cabernet Franc is a Bordeaux-style red wine blend produced in Jordan, known for its density, structure, and balance.

Tasting Notes & Characteristics
  • Color: The wine presents a deep garnet or violet color, almost pitch black.
  • Nose: It has an aromatic nose with primary aromas of cassis, dark fruits (like blackcurrant and plum), candied brandy cherry, dried blueberry, and blackberry jam. These are complemented by notes of baking spice, peppercorn, a hint of green pepper, and subtle hints of rubber and smoke on the finish.
  • Palate: On the palate, it is described as juicy and fruity, developing spiciness with rich, structured, and firm tannins. Flavors include dark fruit, tobacco, black plum, ripe cherry, and notes of roasted almonds and toffee.
  • Body: It is a bold, full-bodied wine that offers complexity and great length.

Pairing Suggestions
According to merchants Fyxx and 13C Wine & Spirits, this wine pairs well with:
  • Korean style marinated sirloin
  • Short ribs ragout
  • Chocolate fondue
  • Dishes seasoned with herbs like thyme, rosemary, or oregano
It is recommended to serve the wine at 16-18°C (60-65°F).

A masterpiece for any wine lover, Petite Syrah is not just a more “petite/small” version of or Shiraz/Syrah, it’s a distinct grape variety. Petite Syrah is the offspring of Syrah and Peloursin. If you’ve never heard of Peloursin, that’s understandable: it’s nearly extinct, found just a few places in the French-Alps. Petite Syreah is loved for its extraordinary deep color and full-bodied flavors of blueberry, chocolate, plums and black pepper. Despite its popularity, Petite Sirah is an exceptionally rare grape with less than 10,000 planted acres worldwide, mainly in California.

Tasting Notes

This almost pitch black Petite Syrah Reserve opens with aromas of crushed violet and red rose, then black and blue berries, and then sandalwood and black pepper! Lively and velvety on the palate, its powerful tannins and notes of dried fig followed by spicy hints of liquorice and black pepper produce its length and a savory finish.

Food Pairing

Barbecue beef, roasted pork, sautéed mushrooms, cheeses- Camembert, aged Gouda are the perfect match to this heavenly wine.

  • Aromas: Warm notes of leather, cherry in kirsch, and ripe black plum, followed by black pepper, vanilla notes, and a hint of tar.

  • Finish: The finish is described as long, dry, and powerful.

The producer recommends serving the wine at 16-18°C (60-65°F), which can be achieved by placing the bottle in the fridge for 15 minutes before serving. It can be paired with Korean-style marinated sirloin, short ribs ragout, or chocolate fondue.

    Tasting
    • Aroma: It offers smoky aromas alongside citrus notes of lime curd and lemon peel, followed by elegant soft spice aromas.
    • Palate: The wine is described as bold, expressive, and slightly viscous, with sharp notes of flint, charcoal, and a pleasant orange peel bitterness. It has a medium length with refreshing acidity.

This wine is part of the Terroir Expression range from Saint George Winery, which emphasizes the unique landscape and soil of Jordan.
    • Body and Acidity: The wine is generally full-bodied with low to moderate acidity, a common characteristic for the Gewürztraminer grape.
