Founded in 1998, Achaval-Ferrer is a team of friends who dream about great wines. Achaval-Ferrer is also a collection of old vineyards in beautiful places. They are committed to the production of wines that are expressive of their terroir. They are a small winery because this is the key to top quality. Low yields allow the vineyards to express their personality in the grapes. Low intervention winemaking allows the grapes to fully express their vineyard in the bottle. Each of their wines is a different expresson of Malbec: The Mendoza Malbec is about varietal tipicity. Their Quimera blend is about Malbec as the key to complexity and balance.

Tasting Notes

A deeply nuanced wine, scented with notes winding from earth and boulder, to dark fruit, up to delicate rosemary hints. It is ample on the palate, with delicious and almost feminine acidity. Quimera is heuristic, an intimate discovery, a search for perfection.

On the nose :you will discover very distinctive aromas of tropical fruits, ripe apples, pears and a touch of spices that adds elegance and finesse. Moderate acidity with silky texture that is smooth to the finish.

A smooth, medium bodied wine made from 15 different red grape varieties, each boasting its own distinct aroma, taste & texture, with a flood of fruits that pushes your taste buds.

This selection of premium wine has been matured in French Barrique to enhance the natural aromas and characteristics of each single variety. The finish is medium to deep with suppleness on the palate.

TASTING NOTES A shiny golden color wine. Tropical and citrus fruit with almond twist finish on the nose. Toasty oak and ripe pineapple notes. Moderately aged in French oak barrique, which adds a unique elegance to this fashionable-slimming wine.

FOOD PAIRING At 10°C, pairs well with all salads, cheeses, anti-pasto, grilled poultry and elaborate dishes based on fish.
