The depth and complexity of a Pauillac Grand Cru Classé
2018 was marked by intense rainy episodes that generated strong cryptogamic pressure. The excellent location of Château Pédesclaux near the Gironde estuary will nevertheless have benefited the vineyard of the property, spared attacks of mildew, thanks to the circulation of air masses. With a conversion initiated in 2012, 50% of the vineyard of Château Pédesclaux is now conducted in organic and biodynamic agriculture.
The very beautiful summer with a radiant sun until the harvest will have made it possible to obtain very large grapes with small berries, sips of aromas and presenting beautiful tannins. The harvest thus began on September 25 and ended on October 12, fully revealing the personality of each grape variety.
Great wine of the property, Château Pédesclaux 2018 is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (64%), supplemented by Merlot (27%), Petit Verdot (4%) and Cabernet Franc (5%).
At the tasting, Château Pédesclaux 2018 presents a very beautiful intense garnet red color. With great power, the aromatic bouquet reveals beautiful notes of black fruits, elegant notes of citrus fruits and spices punctuated by delicate floral notes reminiscent of violets.
On the palate, the mouth seduces with its richness and smooth texture, structured by round and silky tannins.
The cru retains a great freshness and a beautiful vivacity in the mouth, stretching into a salivating finish of great elegance.
