Originally from Brazil, Cachaça AGUACANA comes exclusively from the distillation of pure fermented cane juice from sunny plantations in the Pernambuco region. Enhancing this ‘Spirit’ are fruity, slightly lemony aromas leading to a dry, fruity, caramelised feel in the mouth. It draws its success from its simplicity and the famous trendy cocktail, the ‘Caipirinha’. Perfectly balanced and with a pronounced taste of sugar cane, the AGUACANA cachaça sublimates the Caïpirinha by revealing all its character associated with lime.

A deep mahogany complexion with a stone fruit, plum and sandalwood on the nose, this complex spirit delivers orange marmalade and dark stone fruit with bursts of black currant and tupelo honey. This is a dark rum (and a fairly dusky one at that. Aged up to eight years, it’s got some coffee, cinnamon, and cloves on the nose — along with some raisin notes. Quite savory on the tongue — those bitching about Exclusiva being too sweet can check this out — the coffee notes filter down to dusky charcoal, barrel char, some raisin, and a bit of dark chocolate. Sugar is almost an afterthought here. If you like your rum chewy and filtered through the dank haze of wood, this is your jam. For me though, it’s a bit one-note. 80 proof
