Angostura 1787 (15 Year) Dark Rum

A tribute to craftsmanship and tradition, Angostura 1787 is a super-premium dark rum aged for a minimum of 15 years in carefully selected charred American oak barrels. This exceptional rum is named after the year Trinidad’s first sugar mill began operations, reflecting the island’s rich heritage in rum-making.

  • Appearance: A deep, dark amber color with mahogany undertones.
  • Nose: A luxurious aroma of dried fruits, including prunes and raisins, complemented by hints of toasted oak, warm vanilla, and subtle spices.
  • Palate: Rich and complex, offering layers of flavors such as toffee, molasses, dark chocolate, and caramelized nuts, balanced with a delicate smokiness and whispers of cinnamon and nutmeg.

From the land where sugarcane and Satsuma oranges first arrived in the USA, comes Bayou Satsuma Rum Liqueur, a craft-made, All-American rum flavored with Satsuma juice. Biting into a freshly peeled Louisiana Satsuma is hard to beat! During the last Satsuma harvest in Louisiana, we started mixing this brilliant citrus juice with our Bayou Rum and the taste was so smooth and refreshing we decided to bottle it!

This is a dark rum (and a fairly dusky one at that. Aged up to eight years, it’s got some coffee, cinnamon, and cloves on the nose — along with some raisin notes. Quite savory on the tongue — those bitching about Exclusiva being too sweet can check this out — the coffee notes filter down to dusky charcoal, barrel char, some raisin, and a bit of dark chocolate. Sugar is almost an afterthought here. If you like your rum chewy and filtered through the dank haze of wood, this is your jam. For me though, it’s a bit one-note. 80 proof

Distilled from sugar cane, this very delicate rum is an excellent example of Caribbean flavour. Deep yellow in colour with a delicate and refined aroma, the rum has a long elegant finis with a complex blend of banana and vanilla.
