No. 1 is a celebration of the House of Angostura’s rich heritage and artistry in blending some of the world’s finest rums. With only 9,600 bottles available worldwide, No. 1 is the first premium rum to be unveiled in The Cask Collection, a new limited-edition range dedicated to rums aged in special casks.

Angostura No.1 is a testament to Don Carlos Siegert, son of the brand’s founder, who dreamt of making the “smoothest blend in the new world.

Tasting Notes

On the nose, toffee apples, cinnamon and vanilla, the rum and first fill bourbon both shining through. On the palate caramel, ginger, soft oak, sweet treacle. Fruit salad and spice on the finish.

Dead Man's Fingers Coconut Rum is made using a blend of Caribbean Rums as well as spices that have been added. It is created by The Rum & Crab Shack in St. Ives, which serves fresh sea food with Rum! This particular drink is produced around the brilliant, tropical flavour of Coconuts, which can be enjoyed neat, or mixed in various drinks!

Tasting Notes

Nose: Coconut, mango, clove, runny caramel

Palate: Coconut ice and a touch of lime peel

This is a dark rum (and a fairly dusky one at that. Aged up to eight years, it’s got some coffee, cinnamon, and cloves on the nose — along with some raisin notes. Quite savory on the tongue — those bitching about Exclusiva being too sweet can check this out — the coffee notes filter down to dusky charcoal, barrel char, some raisin, and a bit of dark chocolate. Sugar is almost an afterthought here. If you like your rum chewy and filtered through the dank haze of wood, this is your jam. For me though, it’s a bit one-note. 80 proof

Angostura 1919 (8 Year) Premium Rum

An iconic blend from Trinidad and Tobago, Angostura 1919 is a masterfully crafted rum named in honor of the year a historic batch of casks survived a distillery fire. Captain Morgan Dark rum is a blend of five different rums from Jamaica, Guyana and Barbados. The blended rum mixture is distilled in a two part process using both pot stills and continuous stills and then aged for 2 to 7 years in charred oak barrels.

This is a white rum (with a slight shade of yellow to it) that is aged up to six years, then charcoal filtered to strip the color out. As delicate and delightful a white rum as you’re likely to find, the rum starts off with a heady amount of alcohol, masking sweet notes of coconut and a hint of lemon. The palate is on the sweet side (but not overly so), dosed with coconut, pineapple, and a kick of licorice on the back end. This gives the otherwise fairly straightforward rum a bit of a spicy kick, with just a hint of lime peel lingering on the back end. A worthy choice as your new house white rum for making daiquiris and mojitos. 94 proof
