Tasting Notes

The Marc comes from many prestigious vineyards in Burgundy and especially Clos des Mouches. Its color is intense dark amber. On the nose, there are aromas of gingerbread, tobacco, vanilla and dried fruits. Some tasters actually put a few drops of Marc on the back of their hand and smell it like perfume. On the palate, it is well balanced with a “soft” finish and hint of spices. Marc de Bourgogne must be served in a large balloon glass and cupped in the palm of your hand to increase its exceptional qualities of harmony, roundness and persisting flavors. It can also be used in desert dishes such as “granité” or fresh sorbet. It is also excellent as a base for various cocktails. Domaine Joseph Drouhin is one of the oldest, most respected wine producers in the Burgundy region, established in Beaune by the enterprising Joseph Drouhin in 1880, at the tender age of just 22, when he took control of a merchant business which itself dated back to 1756. Joseph’s sole focus was quality, and he invested heavily in his vineyards to ensure a supply of top quality fruit. At the end of the harvest, after all grapes have been pressed, what remains in the « pressoir » is a thick "cake” (called Marc) made of skins and pips still dripping with the juice of either white or red grapes.

Pere Kermann is an absinthe made with worm wood extract. It's a bright blue shooter. Sweet, spirituous and drying with notes of mint and anise.

Medium sweet, medium acidic, honey melon notes, orange marmalade notes, hint of honey.

TASTE Mellow and sweet whites are medium-dry or even sweet. You can discern apricot, honeydew melon and floral notes in these wines. Residual sugar rounds up the flavour.

TIPS FOR USE These wines are all characterised by delicious, fruity sweetness, which means that they are excellent for socialising and a good match for Eastern dishes and vegetables. Try with Indian vegetable or chicken korma, shrimp and cheese quiche or black label Emmental.

HOW TO SERVE White wines are best served chilled, at 10–12°C. Chilling a bottle from room temperature to the perfect serving temperature takes about two hours in a fridge. The sweeter the wine, the cooler it can be served.

JP. Chenet Medium Sweet Red, delicious aromas of red fruit - redcurrant and raspberry. This is a perfect wine to pair with hearty casseroles of red meat and spicy dishes.

TASTE Smooth and fruity reds are medium-bodied or full-bodied wines that often have a trace of sweetness. Soft fruitiness is a typical characteristic of these wines. You can discern notes of ripe or dried fruits and delicate spiciness in these wines. With low or medium tannins, they are also suitable for those with a sensitive mouth.

TIPS FOR USE These versatile players of the red wine world are ideal for socialising and buffet tables. Try with sweet-and-sour pork stew, Thai chicken curry or spicy sausages, such as chorizo or salami.

HOW TO SERVE Red wines are best served slightly below room temperature, at 16–18°C. Chilling a bottle from room temperature to the perfect serving temperature takes about half an hour in a fridge.

This non-vintage Rose is the end result of a desire to create a Rose champagne with a delightfully luscious, fruit-based charm. Jacques Peters, the cellarmaster, and his team wanted a champagne that would be accessible and naturally engaging while conserving Veuve Clicquot's essential values in terms of style. The wine has a luminous color with attractive pink glints.

The nose is generous and elegant, with initial aromas of fresh red fruit (raspberry, wild strawberry, cherry, blackberry), leading to biscuity notes of dried fruits and Viennese pastries (almonds, apricots and brioche). The fresh attack is followed by a fruity harmonious sensation on the palate. The wine is perfectly balanced in the best Veuve Clicquot style of pink champagnes, combining elegance and flair. The wine works its magic—this delectably full champagne can be enjoyed as a true delicacy. A deliciously fruity wine in earlybloom, this is a wonderful aperitif to be shared as a twosome or simply with friends. Made using 50 to 60 different crus, the cuvee is based on Brut Yellow Label's traditional blend: 50 to 55% Pinot Noir, 15 to 20% Pinot Meunier, and 28 to 33% Chardonnay.
