Our Añejo Reserva is aged for a minimum of 12 months in a combination of French oak wine barrels, bourbon barrels, and sherry casks. We masterfully blend these tequilas to create a luxurious, round, and unique expression that highlights the rich chocolate and fruit flavors imparted by the sherry casks.

KOMOS CRAFTSMANSHIP

True to Komos’ craftsmanship, this expression is made in Mexico using perfectly ripe 100% Blue Weber Agave, hand-harvested from the distinct terroirs of both the highlands and lowlands of the Tequila Valley in Jalisco. The piñas are roasted in traditional stone ovens, and the aguamiel is naturally fermented and twice distilled in copper pot stills. After a year of aging and careful blending, the liquid takes on the rich chocolate and fruit flavors from the sherry casks. The final touch is gentle aeration: the winemaking technique of tumbling the liquid to take on oxygen to make the mouthfeel softer and smoother.

Nose: rich coffee mixed with caramel toffee, lifted by bright citrus zest.

Taste: soft and full, with hints of hazelnut, dried apricots.

Finish: lingering, with allspice, white pepper, and opulent amber notes.

Don Julio 1942 Añejo Tequila is handcrafted in tribute to the year that Don Julio González began his tequila-making journey. Warm oak, vanilla and roasted agave flavors lead into a lingering oak and rich vanilla finish for a luxurious tequila recognized by connoisseurs around the globe. Aged in small batches for 2 and a half years, our añejo tequila is made with 100% Blue Weber Agave that is ready for any celebration.

Don Julio tequila is produced in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, one of the country’s most fertile agave-growing regions. The microclimate and mineral-rich clay soil allow the blue agave plant to flourish. TASTING NOTES :Bold color and full body show off vanilla and warm spice flavors.

Taste: Full body and mouth with cooked agave, oak, aniseed, citrus, caramel, cinnamon, and eucalyptus notes. Pleasant and smooth on the palate.
