Aberfeldy 21 Year Old – 75 cl

Aberfeldy 21 Year Old is a premium, highly awarded Highland single malt Scotch whisky known as a flagship expression from the Aberfeldy Distillery. Often referred to as part of the "Golden Dram" family due to the distillery's water source containing gold deposits, this expression is matured for over two decades in a combination of ex-Sherry and ex-Bourbon casks. It is bottled at 40% ABV.

• Nose: Heavy heather honey, toasted macadamia nuts, dried fruits, creamy vanilla, and a faint trace of beeswax.
• Palate: Rich, silky, and full-bodied. It features dominant flavors of orange zest, creamy fudge, sweet malt, and soft baking spices.
• Finish: Long, mellow, and smooth, leaving behind notes of toasted coconut, ripe peach, and a very subtle hint of peat smoke.

The Macallan treated this 18 Year Old to not just one, but two cask content-types for its maturation, released as part of the Double Cask series! Oloroso sherry was used to season a combination of both American and European oak casks, with the former imparting vanilla nuances while the latter brings that hallmark Macallan spice. Another fantastic sherried single malt from the Speyside distillery!

Tasting Notes

Nose: Dried fruit, ginger and toffee. Rich orange with hints of clove and nutmeg.

Palate: Rich raisin and sultana with notes of caramel, vanilla and ginger, balanced by wood spice and zesty citrus.

Finish: Warm oak spice with ginger, turning to sweet orange.

Nose: Honey and heather with thick caramel notes and a subtle nutmeg spice. Dried meadow flowers and a hint of fresh banana.

Palate: Smooth and succulent with a honeyed sweetness that's typical of Johnnie Walker. There's more to this though, the floral elements are quite prominent and there's a spiced sweet vanilla note too.

Finish: Long, sweet and toffee-like.
