The Chateau Donis 2019 is an organic, medium-bodied red wine from the Côtes de Bourg appellation in the Bordeaux region of France. It is known for its fresh, pure, and concentrated red fruit flavors.

  • Grape Varieties: Primarily a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Malbec
  • Farming: Certified organic and moving towards biodynamic practices
  • Aging: Aged in traditional concrete tanks to emphasize the fruit purity, avoiding oak influence
  • Producer: Vincent Mercier, who took over the property in 2005 and decided to sell under the Chateau label from 2013 
Tasting Notes
The wine offers an authentic profile with outstanding fresh aromas of red berries, including red currants, cherry, and strawberry, along with an intriguing spicy note. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with fine-grained, supple tannins and a flavorful, lingering aftertaste.
