West Cork Single Malt Sherry Cask Finished – 70 cl

A new range launched in Spring 2020, the Cask Collection illustrates the creativity of the West Cork distillery. Produced in small batches, these Single Malts made from 100% Irish malted barley are triple distilled and then aged in first-fill bourbon casks. Each is then matured in a spirits or fortified wine cask for several months and therefore has a unique character and a 100% natural colour. For each Single Malt, the House from which the casks originate is specified in the greatest transparency on the label. For this Sherry Cask Finished, the influence of the Bodega Baron Sherry casks is very clear, with a spicy Single Malt enhanced with notes of dried and candied fruits.

Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire delivers a rich, complex and multi-dimensional tasting experience; Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey, on its own, brings flavors of toasted wood, roasted nuts and vanilla beans.  Our proprietary and unique cinnamon liqueur perfectly complements the whiskey flavors by adding warm, indulgent and spicy notes of ground cinnamon, delicate cinnamon bark, and spicy clove. The result: a delicious Jack.

The Macallan treated this 18 Year Old to not just one, but two cask content-types for its maturation, released as part of the Double Cask series! Oloroso sherry was used to season a combination of both American and European oak casks, with the former imparting vanilla nuances while the latter brings that hallmark Macallan spice. Another fantastic sherried single malt from the Speyside distillery!

Tasting Notes

Nose: Dried fruit, ginger and toffee. Rich orange with hints of clove and nutmeg.

Palate: Rich raisin and sultana with notes of caramel, vanilla and ginger, balanced by wood spice and zesty citrus.

Finish: Warm oak spice with ginger, turning to sweet orange.

Country: Highland, Scotland ABV: 43%

Swing features an elevated amount of Speyside malts, balanced by malts from the northern Highlands and Islay. On the tongue it starts off a bit sweet and then the spicy notes take affect mid-palate which exposes the smoke and peat. It has a smooth lingering smoke and spice finish. The result is a luxurious flavor that's light in the foreground, with sweet mouth-watering depth developing on the palate.

The standard release of Highland Queen blended Scotch whisky, named after Mary Queen of Scots. Like much of the range, it offers very good value for money.

Nose: Some dark honey, caramel, allspice, cooked apples and pear drops.

Palate: Crisp apples now, nougat, more honey, subtle vanilla, perhaps even some tarragon.

Finish: Clean and quite short.

Nose: Honey and heather with thick caramel notes and a subtle nutmeg spice. Dried meadow flowers and a hint of fresh banana.

Palate: Smooth and succulent with a honeyed sweetness that's typical of Johnnie Walker. There's more to this though, the floral elements are quite prominent and there's a spiced sweet vanilla note too.

Finish: Long, sweet and toffee-like.

Overall: A typically easy drinking blend from Johnnie Walker, this will not disappoint fans of the style.
