Key Characteristics

• Alcohol Content: Typically bottled at 70% ABV (140 proof), though some variations may be found at 60% ABV.

• Flavor Profile: The taste is dominated by the characteristic bitterness of wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), balanced with sweet notes of Sicilian anise and fennel.

• Ingredients: Its complex herbal structure is created by macerating and distilling botanicals such as lemon balm, coriander, mint, cloves, and cinnamon.

• Traditional Ritual: Pour 1 oz of absinthe into a glass, place a sugar cube on a slotted absinthe spoon over the rim, and slowly drip 3–5 parts ice-cold water over the sugar until the drink becomes cloudy.
