Curado Tequila BLANCO Cupreata – 70 cl

For the production of Curado, a blanco tequila from the highlands of Jalisco is used as a base, then the liquid is infused with pieces of cooked agave. Initially, only blue agave from the state of Jalisco is used for the infusions, but the project soon evolved to include other agave varieties from other regions of Mexico.

Curado wants to build bridges, not walls.

Curado's current expressions are: Blue Weber from Arandas, Espadín from Oaxaca and Cupreata from Michoacán. They deliberately took an anthropological approach in their search for knowledge, connecting with - and learning from - people who have generations of wisdom and experience. Each agave variety is cooked according to the technique of that region and then brought to Jalisco. There they are infused with the finest 100% blue agave tequila from the Highlands of Jalisco region. The ratio of agave to tequila varies in each expression, depending on the content-type of agave obtained.

This tequila is made only from the Cupreata agave.

Tasting notes:

Nose: Spicy, pepper, chili.

Taste: Complex, slightly acidic, chili, white pepper.

Finish: Long lasting, spicy.

Patrón tequilas are handcrafted at the Hacienda Patrón distillery in Jalisco, Mexico where people are the heart of the process - one that has remained the same since the very beginning. First, skilled jimadors uproot only the finest 100% Weber Blue Agave with the perfect sugar content and transport the heart of the plant to Hacienda Patrón. They’re then hand chopped, baked and crushed by a two-ton volcanic stone tahona wheel and a roller mill.

The agave is then fermented in pine oak tanks and distilled in small batches using copper stills. Each bottle of Patrón is a work of art, meticulously inspected, hand corked and signed.

This tequila is crafted using 8-12 year old 100% Weber blue agave and is matured in American and French Oak barrels for no less than six months.

This rich liquid has notes of buttery caramel, mild spices  and a touch of smokiness, which is imparted by the finishing process.
