Angostura 1919 (8 Year) Premium Rum

An iconic blend from Trinidad and Tobago, Angostura 1919 is a masterfully crafted rum named in honor of the year a historic batch of casks survived a distillery fire. Aged for a minimum of 8 years in carefully selected charred American oak barrels, this premium gold rum is celebrated for its exceptional smoothness and complexity.

  • Appearance: A radiant amber-gold hue with inviting warmth.
  • Nose: Delicate aromas of vanilla, honey, toasted oak, and dried fruit, layered with subtle hints of spices and nuts.
  • Palate: Silky and well-balanced, offering flavors of creamy toffee, rich molasses, and sweet tropical fruits, with gentle undertones of nutmeg and cocoa.
  • Finish: Smooth, lingering, and lightly sweet, with a touch of warm spice and oak.

A premium Caribbean rum with a Scottish connection. This Jamaican rum is one of Cut Rum’s signature expressions and uses pot still from Forsyth’s Still Makers in Speyside. Aged in American bourbon barrels, this is heavy on the spice. Infused with peppercorns from Madagascar, cinnamon and aniseed from India and nutmeg from the West Indies, Cut Rum have scoured the globe for the finest natural ingredients.

The nose gives off notes of orange, vanilla, and dried spices.

On the taste is creamy caramel, sea salt and peppercorn, leading to a lingering spicy finish. Real rum, real spice.

This is a dark rum (and a fairly dusky one at that. Aged up to eight years, it’s got some coffee, cinnamon, and cloves on the nose — along with some raisin notes. Quite savory on the tongue — those bitching about Exclusiva being too sweet can check this out — the coffee notes filter down to dusky charcoal, barrel char, some raisin, and a bit of dark chocolate. Sugar is almost an afterthought here. If you like your rum chewy and filtered through the dank haze of wood, this is your jam. For me though, it’s a bit one-note. 80 proof
