Glenfiddich Collection Vat 02 – 100 cl

A sherried Glenfiddich originally released for the distillery's travel exclusive Perpetual collection, this single malt was aged in Spanish Sherry casks. 

Intriguingly, only half the whisky in the vat is bottled before it's refilled with fresh spirits, in the style of classic Spanish sherry soleras, meaning there is always a well-balanced mix of well-aged and young whisky.

Nose: Polished leather, freshly-baked fruitcake, bittersweet marmalade, and toasted oak.

Palate: Silky, sweet, and spicy, with peppery fresh oak, cigar box, and well-toasted bread.

Finish: Candied peels, treacle, and a good whack of cinnamon.

Produced with a careful selection of the best Scottish malt and grain whiskies, mainly from the region of Speyside. The only one in its category with an aging of at least 15 years in oak barrels. Nose: Honey and heather with thick caramel notes and a subtle nutmeg spice. Dried meadow flowers and a hint of fresh banana.

Palate: Smooth and succulent with a honeyed sweetness that's typical of Johnnie Walker. There's more to this though, the floral elements are quite prominent and there's a spiced sweet vanilla note too.

Finish: Long, sweet and toffee-like.

Overall: A typically easy drinking blend from Johnnie Walker, this will not disappoint fans of the style.
