The Macallan Double Cask 15 Years Old is a well-balanced single malt whisky made by combining the ideal harmony of two oak casks into a single superb whisky. Tasting Notes: On the nose, butterscotch and plump raisin, with spiced apple crumble and oak spice.

On the palate, dried fruits galore, with a dusting of cinnamon, candied ginger and orange peel. More warming ginger alongside a drizzle of honey and buttery caramel on the finish.

The standard release of Highland Queen blended Scotch whisky, named after Mary Queen of Scots. Like much of the range, it offers very good value for money.

Nose: Some dark honey, caramel, allspice, cooked apples and pear drops.

Palate: Crisp apples now, nougat, more honey, subtle vanilla, perhaps even some tarragon.

Finish: Clean and quite short.

Famous Grouse is a very nicely balanced, malty blend which was first made in 1896, and would go on to be known as The Famous Grouse, with the name registered in 1905. Nose: Honey and heather with thick caramel notes and a subtle nutmeg spice. Dried meadow flowers and a hint of fresh banana.

Palate: Smooth and succulent with a honeyed sweetness that's typical of Johnnie Walker. There's more to this though, the floral elements are quite prominent and there's a spiced sweet vanilla note too.

Finish: Long, sweet and toffee-like.

Overall: A typically easy drinking blend from Johnnie Walker, this will not disappoint fans of the style.
