From the womb of our efforts to diversify the taste of Lebanese wine, the selection of Les Raretés was born. It comprises varietals that are solely planted in Lebanon by Karam Wines; undoubtedly others will follow suit. Their scarcity earned them their name: Les Raretés. –Captain Habib Karam

Why Meksassi?

Meksassi is an ancient versatile Lebanese grape associated with the Jezzine area where the Karam family have been farming grapes for generations and is often found wild, trained around the huge Jezzine oak trees.

Winemaking & Tasting Notes

Knowing the potential of Meksassi, we vinified it to create a balanced wine that delivers aromas of green apples, lime, apricots and white flowers of Southern Lebanon. In the mouth, it presents excellent acidity combined with the Meksassi signature mouth feel and aromas of waxed honey, stone fruit and hints of jasmine tea leading to a sustained finish. Meksassi can be drunk young and has good ageing qualities.

The arak of Chateau Ksara is a truly authentic expression of Lebanon's traditional, anise-flavored spirit.

The Three Brothers bathtub Lebanese Gin is a rediscovery of a lost style in gin production. Lebanese Juniper berries are macerated then infused along with 21 botanicals in a premium neutral grain spirit. Each of the botanicals has been carefully picked to bring the Lebanese aroma to life with every sip. When sipped,the palate explores intense notes of juniper, lavender, rose, carob, grapefruits and a spicy touch of cinnamon. This gin feels soft and silky with a zest of citrus and warm spicy finish. Almaza Pilsner Beer includes delicate aromas of grain and corn waft from the glass. And that’s not really surprising, when you discover that the brewery states “corn makes up to 25%” of the grain bill. But give the beer a few vigorous swirls to bring some of its head back. And you’ll soon discover that it also brings light notes of honey and flora, with grassy hints.

That light, delicate character also carries into Almaza Pilsener Beer’s flavor.

Named after François-Eugène Brun, Arak Brun might be the world’s most famous arak! Its production has been uninterrupted since the inception of the winery in 1868. It is made from the alcohol of estate grown Obeidi and Cinsault grapes, harvested at optimum ripeness, and blended with fresh anise. Since 2015, Domaine des Tourelles grows its own anise in Deir el Ahmar, a village in the district of Baalbek. Their arak is produced inside a hundred-year-old cellar, processed traditionally using a three-stage distillation in traditional alembics, and aged in clay jars.

Arak is not sweetened.

Serve with water – ice can be added.
