Laphroaig Select – 70 cl

Laphroaig Select (recently repackaged and known in some markets as Laphroaig Oak Select) is a non-age-statement (NAS) Islay single malt Scotch whisky designed to be the distillery's most approachable, mellow, and introductory peated expression. It tempers Laphroaig's notoriously intense, medicinal peat smoke by blending spirits matured in multiple cask styles to create a sweeter, softer flavor profile

The Blend: It brings together whiskies aged in Oloroso Sherry butts, Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry hogsheads, First-fill Bourbon quarter casks, and standard ex-bourbon barrels.

The Finish: The final blend undergoes a six-month finishing period in virgin American oak barrels, which adds prominent vanilla, honey, and wood sugars.

ABV: 40%

• Nose: Subtle, classic Islay ash and medicinal peat smoke, balanced by soft barley, vanilla, and sweet notes of red fruits and lemon zest.
• Palate: Soft, light-bodied entry. Gentle campfire smoke layered with butterscotch, creme brulee, honey, and light orchard fruit, followed by mild baking spices like ginger and cinnamon.
• Finish: Medium length, featuring lingering dry oak tannins, light ash, lime sherbet, and a subtle floral sweetness.

Famous Grouse is a very nicely balanced, malty blend which was first made in 1896, and would go on to be known as The Famous Grouse, with the name registered in 1905.
